=0D=0A=Cedar Basket Weaving Adult Workshop September 10, 2017 10:00 am - 5:00 pm $95 members | $100 non-members (includes all materials to complete a cedar basket) Minimum 10 Registrants required. No cedar weaving experience necessary We are honoured to welcome Qwatxwamaat (Pearl Harris), for a full day of cedar basket weaving and teachings around this respected and ancient craft. Pearl belongs to the Stz’uminus First Nation and is committed to respecting her culture and traditions.
=0D=0A=Pearl is also a strong advocate for the revitalization of the Hul’q’umi’num language. Hul’q’umi’num is the language of the St’zuminus, Snuneymuxw and Snawnawas First Nation and is spoken primarily in parts of central Vancouver Island including Victoria, Duncan, Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum Beach. Join us as we weave deeper understandings and Hul’q’umi’num language into our lives during this full and fun day of cedar basking weaving. It is sure to be a Uy’skweyul (good day)!
