Canucks Autism Network will be running a Multisport Day Camp, for registered CAN participants with autism and their siblings, aged 5-16, on Saturday, July 16th and Sunday, July 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Shawnigan Lake School.  Participants will get the opportunity to try a variety of sports activities including biking, tennis, and golf. Lessons will include basic drills in all sports, supportive individualized skill practice, and supervised group activities. The camp will also provide parents with a day of respite.

Individuals must be registered CAN members in order to attend the Multisport Day Camp. Families can become CAN members for $25 a year by visiting canucksautism.ca/join. Registration for the Multisport Day Camp closes on Wednesday, June 15th at noon.

“We are thrilled to be hosting these events for families living with autism in the Cowichan Valley,” says Lindsay Petrie, Marketing and Communications Manager, Canucks Autism Network. “Both events have been funded through money raised at the Savour Cowichan Festival along with generous support from the Caprice Theatres in Duncan,  Kats Society for Kids at Tennis, PISE-Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence, Cowichan Golf and Country Club, Experience Cycling, Sprockids and the Shawnigan Lake School. Our goal is to bring families living with autism together and to make them aware of the programs and support that is available to them in their region."
