Get out on the water and have some fun with friends and family on July 1st to celebrate Canada Day!
=0D=0A=This unique on the water scavenger hunt will have you decoding riddles, testing your chart reading skills and knowledge of our harbour and surrounding islands all from your boat. Find marks on the water based on riddles provided and record their location on a provided chart. At the end of the day, participating boats with a correct mark will choose a random playing card from a deck. The more correct marks you find, the more playing cards you'll have. The best poker hand wins! Extra playing cards will be awarded to those who can decode the mark message and for best Canada Day costume.
=0D=0A=Prizes to be won include passes and items from Airhouse Nanaimo, Romper Room and Harbour Chandler to name a few. This event is coined the "Canada 150 Division" which is apart of NYC's annual Snake Island Regatta where sailors come from up and down the coast to race. Although the division isn't an actual race, participants are encouraged to join in on the racing festivities that include Friday night dock party and BBQ (June 30th) and Saturday steak dinner (July 1st).
=0D=0A=We ask that participants be aware of other boaters a that they avoid interfering with racers active on course.
=0D=0A=What you need to know:
=0D=0A=Canada 150 Division "Scavenger Hunt" is open to any sail or power boats
=0D=0A=$25 per boat to enter -Register Here for the event, no PHRF required and choose Division: Canada 150 when registering.
=0D=0A=If you wish to join in on our Friday Night Dock party BBQ/Breakfasts/and Saturday Dinner then you can purchase a weekend wrist band when registering. Payment can be made online.
=0D=0A=Saturday July 1, at 9am participants can pick the Scavenger Hunt package at NYC club house which will include chart, riddles and instructions for the day. Then they are free to head out on the water and find as many marks they can at your own pace.
=0D=0A=Completed charts with found marks need to be submitted between 3 and 4pm at NYC. Prizes will be awarded at 4:30pm at the NYC club house.
