Fresh off performances at Victoria, Montreal, and Beaches (Toronto) International Jazz Festivals, and 19 appearances with 8 bands in Vancouver, Sherbrooke, Montreal, Oakville, and Toronto, Vancouver Island sax sensation Conn Stewart returns to heat it up again with the BOSS TENORS on their August “HOT SUMMER NIGHTS” tour featuring veteran award-winning jazz saxophonist Dan Craven and a sizzling rhythm section of keyboardist Patrick Courtin, guitarist Andrew Janusson, recent addition bassist Marisha Devoin, and drummer James McRae.=0D=0A=

Audiences have loved hearing the Boss Tenors engaged in spirited battle or beautiful harmony as they present music from the great dual tenor sax acts of the jazz repertoire: Gene Ammons & Sonny Stitt, Eddie Lockjaw Davis & Johnny Griffin, Coleman Hawkins & Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon & Wardell Gray, John Coltrane & Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz & John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins & Sonny Stitt, and more.=0D=0A=

Woodwind phenom, multi-instrumentalist (tenor/alto/soprano/baritone saxes, cornet, clarinet, flute, keyboards, vocals), and bandleader/songwriter Conn Stewart’s development has been described as meteoric. Evidencing an uncanny ear, improvisational ability, stage presence, and musical maturity belying his age, and a precocious knowledge of jazz history and repertoire, he began performing professionally at 15, and has won accolades from Victoria, Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal to Portland, Boston, and New York. He has played at major B.C. jazz venues including Hermann’s Jazz Club (Victoria), the Cellar Jazz Club (Vancouver), the Georgia Straight Jazz Society series (Courtenay), Blue Frog Studios (White Rock), Jazz Vespers at Sylvan United (Mill Bay), the Jazz at Crofton series, the Beltone Jazz series (Comox), Victoria Django Festival, and TD Victoria International JazzFest.
