It boasts the largest blues revue in Western Canada making it the concert choice of thousands of music fans each year.<br /><br />This year our Blues Odyssey features an amalgam of blues styles where original and traditional blues songs are performed by distinctive blues artists like Rick Fines and Suzie Vinnick. In counterpoint, and laying down the outside boundaries of contemporary blues, is the blues guitar posse of 2017 Maple Blues Entertainer of the Year &mdash; Paul DesLauriers, the incomparable Paul Pigat, blues enchanter JW Jones, and guitar virtuoso Jack de Keyzer. And there is more. Running full-throttle down the Odyssey&rsquo;s central road is Mr. Devastating -rhythm David Vest on<br /><br />piano, 2017 Maple Blues winner Harpdog Brown, and holding it all tight and together is the engaging Lisa Rae Simons on bass and 2017 Maple Blues drummer of the year Sam Harrisson.<br /><br />Those who have witnessed our past blues reviews know just how special these shows are.
