Beyond the Photograph: From Start to Finish
=0D=0A=Using the photograph as a point of departure, this one-day intensive course offers an opportunity to discover a world of possibilities for transforming any image into a one of a kind work of art. In a relaxed lecture-demo format, instructor Amy Melious will unpack and share her unique art-making methods that begin with the camera and then incorporate digital and hand finishing techniques. Workshop will take place in a spacious bright heritage building in the heart of Ganges village on Salt Spring Island. Hours of the even are 10-4 including a short lunch break. From 4-5, participants wishing to remain are invited to a round-table Q&A discussion.

=0D=0A=This workshop is a rare chance to experiment with a variety of photographic finishing techniques taught by photographic artist Amy Melious over the course of two days. If you're curious about taking your photography to a new place, this workshop is for you. Working at your own pace, you'll have the opportunity to rotate among three separate techniques stations; Hand painting photographic prints, introduction to image transfer, and mounting an image to wood panel. After becoming familiar with each of the techniques, you can try using them in combination. Or, choose to focus on your favourite. Either way, experienced guidance and support will be available throughout each day. Your instructor, Amy Melious, has over thirty years of experience and passion in the field of photographic art. You will likely never look at a photo quite the same way again! Hours: 10-4 each day including short lunch breaks.
