DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:The Nanaimo Museum is hosting Dr. David Gray for a presentation and guided tour of the feature exhibit, Expedition:  Arctic 1913-1918.  Dr. Gray is the curator of the exhibit and will also share his experiences in the Canadian Arctic Expedition research trip to Banks Island this past summer.  =0D=0A=

Dr. Gray is a well-respected independent researcher, writer and filmmaker.  "We are pleased that Dr. Gray is flying from Ottawa to make this presentation," says Aimee Greenaway, Program & Volunteer Coordinator.  "It will be a great opportunity for people to learn about Arctic exploration from the past and present."   Dr. Gray will also explain Nanaimo's connection to the 1913 Arctic Expedition when the ill-fated ship, Karluk, travelled past on her way north to start the expedition. =0D=0A=

The presentation will take approximately 45 minutes and the Expedition:  Arctic guided tour will be approximately 30 minutes long.   =0D=0A=

Pre-registration is not required.  =0D=0A=
Admission is $5 at the door on a first come, first served basis.  =0D=0A=

The museum will close at 4:00pm on October 29 to accommodate the presentation.=0D=0A=

Expedition:  Arctic was created by the Canadian Museum of Civilization and the Canadian Museum of Nature and is featured at the Nanaimo Museum until November 2nd.  The exhibit text is written in English and French.  =0D=0A=
