Put on your funkiest shoes and Walk With Us!! AIDS Vancouver Island in Nanaimo educates over 4,000 people ever year about how to avoid HIV/AIDS, reduce stigma and create a more compassionate society in the face of HIV/AIDS.
=0D=0A=Nanaimo is one of more than 40 communities across Canada participating in the 2015 Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life. Proceeds raised from the event will support AIDS Vancouver Island in our community, who provide support and education to those infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C in the Nanaimo region.

=0D=0A=11am - Registration begins, live music, free t-shirts for all walkers!!
11:30am - Speakers Noon - Walk begins at Diana Krall Plaza
12:30pm - Walk returns to Plaza, free lunch, live music, prizes!! The Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life reminds us all that HIV still poses major obstacles to people living with the virus and to our communities and that the need to respond by providing support and creating awareness is as urgent as ever.
This important event raises awareness about the work that AIDS Vancouver Island does in reducing the harms associated with HIV/AIDS. There are still new infections of hepatitis C and HIV in Nanaimo and across Vancouver Island— there is an urgent need to address stigma and discrimination for those at-risk, living with and affected by the virus.
=0D=0A=As Canada’s most important HIV/AIDS awareness and fundraising event, the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life has now raised over $30 million for community-based HIV/AIDS service organizations since 1996 and has attracted well over half a million participants.
