EAT LOCAL CHALLENGE
=0D=0A=Tuesday, May 29th 2018, from midnight to midnight, conduct your own real life experiment in local eating. Experience what's possible. Pledge to eat only local, Vancouver Island grown, raised or fished food for 24 hours. (Don’t worry coffee addicts, one exception is allowed & you can get locally roasted!) Reconnect with where our food comes from. Local food is more varied, tastier, healthier and even cheaper than standard shipped-in supermarket fare. Farmers’ Markets Rule! Already a Local Foody? Challenge yourself to stretch and go for only Cowichan grown foods or go local in new ways! Support local growers & create a food-secure future in a community what we eat is better for people and the planet.

Guest Speaker: CGC's Recoverists Team - establishing a food recovery system to reclaim unwanted and destined for the landfill food and distribute it to a series of emergency food providers!
