The Victoria Django Festival is pleased to announce the second annual winter festival in Victoria, BC. With the City of Victoria being home to one of the top gypsy jazz communities in Canada, it's no surprise last year's event in February sold out quickly, so this year the organization has added an extra night of rip-roaring manouche for folks to enjoy, and a Django Camp for those who want to learn the style, along with the popular concert and dance party, workshops hosted by the Swing Dance Association of Victoria and delicious food and drink.=0D=0A=

This year's festival starts with a Friday night Valentine's dance party at the chandelier lit White Eagle Hall, with both uppper and lower halls in full swing. A Saturday afternoon concert in Centennial Square will entice crowds for the main event Saturday night, which features Seattle's Pearl Django, renowned "Djangologist" Dennis Chang, and many more local favorites at St. Andrews Church and The Kirk Hall. The Django Camp will take place Saturday and Sunday for two hours per day at Larsen Music, with instructors Dennis Chang (guitar) and Daniel Lapp (violin). Interested students may contact 250-389-1988 ext 320 for more information and to sign up for the camp.=0D=0A=

Local sponsors Hoyne Brewery and The Whole Beast return to the Victoria Django Festival once again with delicious libations and charcuterie, while The Hot and Cold Cafe and Famoso Pizza join in this year with their local gourmet. The Swing Dance Association of Victoria kicks off each night with a free dance workshop, so grab your dancing shoes get there early to pick up some fancy footwork. The free afternoon event in Centennial Square on Saturday will feature an in-the-round concert with many of the performers, to warm you up for Saturday's evening festivities. =0D=0A=
