DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:BC Forest Discovery Centre celebrates kids this BC Day long weekend for 2 fun filled days for families in and visiting the Cowichan Region. “This event has been a popular tradition for several years now and we thought it was time to make the weekend twice as much fun, so we added a second day” says Chris Gale, Manager at the BC Forest Discovery Centre.  “Steam train rides, entertainment, logger sports for the kids, draws, our famous BBQ, and a great educational experience, are only a few reasons for kids of all ages to come out to the event.” A special per day admission rate of $5 for children under 18, Seniors at only $6, and $8 for adults, makes it an affordable fun day for all. It's a fun way to celebrate the BC Day long weekend. In fact, you'll want to attend both days as the entertainment on our outdoor stage will host Shelley Vaags on the Sunday, and then Andy McCormack performs Monday for the kids to dance and sing along with a little help from the Island Savings wise owl, Penny. Take in our summer exhibit while you're visiting that Curator Jenna Kiesman has assembled ; ‘Burning Snags and Raining Ashes’ chronicling the events surrounding the Great Bloedel Fire of 1938, as it is only at the BC Forest Discovery Centre for a limited time. With 100 acres of discovery, education and fun, you'll want 2 days to experience it all. =0D=0A=

Other events still to come this year and that are in the planning stages with sponsors include Labour Day, Halloween and, of course, the popular Christmas Express. Investing in a membership includes a season’s pass allowing entry to the facility, the train, and to all special events throughout the year, with exception to the Christmas Express which is a fundraising event.=0D=0A=
