The first feature film by Yan England takes us inside a school where the adults have good intentions but are out of touch with some of their students’ ongoing tragedies. Filmed in a school, the movie’s fine cast helps it maintain a sense of truth and believability. Antoine Olivier Pilon (Mommy by Xavier Dolan) delivers another remarkable performance, for which he received the award for best actor at the most recent Festival du film francophone d'Angoulême (France). Since the film’s release it has been sparking discussions and shedding light on important issues, helping us better understand the workings of a world where intimidation is all too often the only law. Le premier long métrage du réalisateur Yan England nous entraîne en plein cœur d’un milieu scolaire entouré d’adultes bienveillants qui ne sont toutefois pas en phase avec les drames du quotidien qui rythment la vie de certains élèves. Filmé en milieu scolaire, la proposition du réalisateur est portée par une distribution très juste, augmentant le sentiment de vérité et de crédibilité pour le spectateur. Le comédien Antoine Olivier Pilon, encore une fois ici remarquable, (Mommy de Xavier Dolan) a reçu le prix d'interprétation à la dernière édition du Festival du film francophone d'Angoulême. Depuis le début de la carrière de son film, le propos du réalisateur provoque des discussions nécessaires et jette un éclairage pour tenter de mieux comprendre de l’intérieur ce « monde » où l’intimidation règne encore trop souvent en reine.
