Stifling an urge to dance is bad for your health.
It rusts your spirit and your hips. ~Anonymous
Have you ever noticed that it's really hard to be angry or sad while you're dancing? There's something about stepping out of our tightly controlled bodies and moving with abandon that feels so very good.
But after the age of 5 or so, most of us just get too self-conscious to wiggle and jiggle like we mean it. How very interesting that today is International Dance Day, right on the cusp of Youth Week! Maybe one of the keys to the fountain of youth is hidden right in plain sight... laced too tightly inside of our shoes. If you're needing a bit of extra help letting it out, you'll find some great local inspiration HERE.
Like the Japanese proverb says:
We’re fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance.
