It's the season to soup up your ride.
This weekend marks the first days of fall, and that can only mean one thing. It's zucchini racing time.
To help give you at least a bit of a chance against all of the 8 year old mechanical engineering geniuses out there, I thought I'd share a few tips with you today. You probably still won't beat them, but it will at least help to minimize the humiliation.
Firstly, as in many situations, bigger is not always better. A sleek and slim vegetable can often outperform the others. Secondly, for once in life, having a low and wide base is actually a good thing. You won't win if your car topples over midway down the course. Also, something that always holds true: keep it simple. When was the last time you saw a bird flying with a garden gnome on it's back carrying a basket of tomatoes? That's actually the question I should have asked myself before arriving at the starting line.
And finally, always keep in mind that whether you win or lose...
everyone goes home with A Prize.
Have a soup-er week, everyone.
