Back by popular demand – honestly! In past years Dance Days has proved what those involved in dance in the region have known for some time – there is a whole lot of dance happening in this city. And people want to dance!

In the fall of 2011, Elise Wren, Dance Victoria’s Associate Producer, contacted the region’s dance studios and clubs and asked how they might participate in Dance Days. The result was overwhelming:

- A total of 70 events (most of them are FREE!)

- 31 studios, organizations and dance professionals are donating their time to this community event

- Thirty (30) FREE dance classes set at the adult beginner level in a variety of styles at studios all over town

- Eight (8) FREE workshops at the beginner level in Tap, Swing, Contemporary and Bellyfit. And for experienced dancers eleven (11) FREE workshops and classes set at the Intermediate/Advanced level.

- Eight FREE Demonstrations including studio showings from professional contemporary dance companies in Vancouver, Victoria School of Contemporary Dance, and elev8 Youth Dance Project.

- Demos at Mayfair Shopping Centre and in the new Atrium Building (Yates at Blanshard)

- The LOLA Projects – premieres of local work on Sunday, Feb. 5th at Metro Studio starting at 7:30 pm.

- Now in its 3rd year, Dance continues to draw large crowds to each dance event. In past years, certain free dance classes have drawn 70+ participants to a single class!
