8:00 PM to 11:00 PM

A special evening of story and song with five diverse artists including some of Canada's most recognized and awarded singer-songwriters. Oliver Swain hosts and accompanies on bass and banjo for this panel concert with all writers on stage taking turns sharing their unique gifts.

Featuring multiple Juno winning Canadian folk legend Stephen Fearing, multiple Juno winning Jenny Whiteley with Joey Write, Nettwerk recording artists Twin Bandit, Ontario troubadour Richard Garvey and Clair Butterfield of Foxglove.

Stephen Fearing's music embodies a fierce intelligence, a haunting candor and a steady-handed pursuit of fleeting beauty. He exudes an abiding love for his craft and a respect for his audience that is reflected in two Juno awards and a touring circuit the includes festival stages and convert halls across Canada, Europe and the United States.
A beguiling teller of tales and a singularly intense instrumentalist, Fearing is an alluring entertainer - heartbreaking, expansive and full of mirth - with a clear, honorable voice that lifts you out into his wife world and "brings you back home to yourself".

Music critics have compared Jenny Whiteley's striking vocals and songwriting to Emmy Lou Harris and Lucinda Williams, raving that she “swings effortlessly from black-hearted back-porch Americana to Laurel Canyon country” (No Depression).

Jenny got an early start playing music with her father and uncle, Chris and Ken Whiteley, who formed the popular Original Sloth Band in the heyday of Toronto folk. Throughout Jenny’s childhood, she and her brother Dan were along for the ride at countless concerts and festivals, and before long they were singing and playing washtub and washboard alongside their dad and uncle in The Junior Jug Band.

Jamie Elliott & Hannah Walker are Canadian folk duo Twin Bandit. Based in Vancouver, B.C., they began writing songs together in 2013 and signed with Nettwerk Records. Now they perform throughout North America and across Europe winning over audiences with their crystalline harmonies and wistful Americana sound. They released their debut album 'For You' in June 2015 with producer Jonathan Anderson. Twin Bandit is Fresh off their second European tour and new recording project ' Full Circle' to be released August 18th 2017 with producers Howard Reddekopp (Tegan and Sara, Mother Mother) and Tom Terrell (Rose Cousins).

Claire Butterfield is one third of Victoria’s Fox Glove.
Richard Garvey is guitar-strumming, banjo-plucking, and sing-along-starting performer and community organizer from Kitchener. His award-winning songs explore the highs and lows of love, injustice, and the marbled mess of the human condition. Whether he’s playing to a living room or an amphitheatre, Richard brings clever songs and a sly sense of humour to inspire solidarity, hope, and change. If you’re looking for the latest incarnation of world-changing, foot-stomping, and heart-filling folk music, see Richard Garvey.
