Victoria Camera Club: Through the Photographer's Eye
add to outlook add to google calendar remind me send to friend
The Victoria Camera Club has been a gathering place for people who love photography since 1944. This year the club is displaying 60 prints by some of its members for the month of April.
The works range from landscape to abstracts, experimental works to wildlife, in both colour and black-and-white. The digital age has produced a surge of interest in photography, and the club membership has risen to 160.
In 2009 the club achieved recognition by winning the Camera Club competition in Nature’s Best magazine, and as a result, having a montage of work by seven nature photographers hung in the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington. Some of these works will be included.
The Victoria Camera Club offers a range of activities including workshops, speakers, field trips and competitions. Images and information are available on the website at www.victoriacameraclub.org.
