Arranged by Josef Triebensee, excerpts from Mozart’s Don Giovanni bring harmony for the wind section of the VI Symphony in music that befits an outdoor party on elegant palace lawns. Mozart’s famous Oboe Quartet in F Major will be performed and the beautiful Serenade No. 10 in B flat Major “Gran Partita” — made famous in the movie Amadeus where the music is described as being “The voice of God speaking through a child.”
WOLFGANG In a joyous celebration of the magic of Mozart and community, the VI Symphony presents a mini-festival of two concerts, back-to-back, featuring familiar and well-loved favourites by this revered composer, performed by and highlighting the talented members of your very own orchestra.
