Vancouver’s Sharon Minemoto is another of the fine musicians to have emerged from Capilano College’s renowned jazz programme. Both her quintet and jazz trios have been featured at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, The Vernon Jazz Club, The Okanagan Jazz and Blues Society, The Powell Street Festival, The Hornby Island Arts Festival, Festival Vancouver, the Jazz On The Wing series in Whitehorse, and at Club JZ in China. Sharon is a superb pianist who has studied with Geoff Keezer and with Don Thompson. This will be an afternoon of cool arrangements of jazz standards as well as Sharon’s widely respected original compositions.
