Lulu Performing Arts presents: Raw Cello: A Fusion of the Visual, Musical and Improvisational Arts A new cello under construction, which has not yet received any varnish, is known as a “raw cello”.

“Raw Cello” is the name chosen by Corbin Keep for an extraordinary, emotionally charged new show, in which these instruments serve as canvas, ready to receive creations by Gabriola visual artist, Tawny Maclachlan Capon, while three local cellists (Rachel Capon, Eli Bender and Corbin Keep) perform both original and covered cello music.

Improvisational components will highlight moment to moment communication between the visual and aural artists, creating a striking and unique experience for both audience and artists alike.  Upon conclusion of the performance, four works of cello art by Tawny Maclachlan Capon will be offered for sale, should anyone wish to take these masterpieces home, to display on a wall, or play a song on!
