Friday, February 15th, 2013
10am – 11am: Ages 4 – 6 11am – 12pm: Ages 7 – 9
Inspired by the contemporary drawing exhibition Traces: Fantasy Worlds and Tales of Truth, Annemarie Cabri of Cabri Dance has been invited to offer creative dance for school age children. The one hour workshops will have students observing, creating, and exploring shape, flow, and weight, in dance as seen in the contemporary drawing exhibition. Engaging exercises allow for much self expression in mind, spirit, and body in this energetic and joyful workshop.
After graduating from Canada's National Ballet School, Annemarie Cabri joined The Dutch National Ballet Co., Amsterdam, later dancing with Judith Marcuse and independent projects in British Columbia with multiple world tours. Settling in Victoria, BC, with two daughters Annemarie began her passion, study, and training of brain-compatible dance education bringing movement to teachers and students in schools. Cabri Creative Dance School was opened almost 20 years ago under the direction of Annemarie and continues today with a variety of multi-arts programming. Annemarie lives between Toronto and Victoria where she teaches and choreographs independently at schools and studios, for teacher trainings, and with The National Ballet of Canada's outreach programs.
