The concert rings in the Christmas Season in Oceanside with a Performance of Handel’s Messiah. Excitement builds as the 50 voice choir, conducted by Anne Barber works hard to carry on a long standing tradition of presenting this great work in Parksville. Soloists and trumpeters will add to the celebration of the choir’s 40th anniversary.
Local audiences have been treated to outstanding performances at past concerts by, soprano, Andrea Sicotte, tenor, David Brown and baritone, Michael Eckford. Faye Boggs, alto will perform with us for the first time. Faye currently serves as music director at St. Edmunds Anglican Church in Parksville. Faye, an accomplished soloist, has studied voice, piano and organ since an early age. We are pleased to welcome her and also Victoria trumpet player, Bryn Badel.
Handel’s Messiah is performed across the world during the Christmas Season. This inspiring music lifts our spirits in a world often filled with strife and misery. Handel’s great gift of music reminds us of the beauty that can be achieved by mankind. Celebrate the season at this special anniversary concert!
