Saturday, April 21st, 2018
12:00 PM to 4:30 PM

On Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, 2018, from noon to 4:30 pm, the artists of Oak Bay will be opening their home studios to the public for this popular semi-annual event.

The FREE, self-guided tour visits 25 local artists showing paintings in watercolour, acrylic, and oil, as well as ceramics, photography, fibre art, paper castings, art cards, sculpture and more. Participants are invited to walk, bike, or drive the streets of Oak Bay at their own pace to view the art, meet the artists, and learn about artists’ inspiration and process. Now in its 19th year, the juried tour is produced by Oak Bay Parks, Recreation, and Culture.

In addition to displays in home studios throughout Oak Bay, some participating artists will be showing their art in a shared space in the Neighbourhood Learning Centre (adjacent to Oak Bay High School) during the tour, in Activity Rooms 1 & 2, open to the public from noon to 4:30 pm on Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, 2018. There will also be a selection of works on display in the hallway of the Neighbourhood Learning Centre, from Friday, April 6 to Monday, April 30. The Neighbourhood Learning Centre is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Several of the participating artists have received nationwide and international recognition. The Spring Studio Tour artists are: Marie-Andree Allison, Robert Amos, Sarah Amos, Myra Baynton, Jean Betts, Arlene Davey, Heather Midori Yamada, Anne Hansen, Donna Ion, Linda Lindsay, Vivian Lochridge, Victor Lotto, Sandi Madsen, Joanie McCorry, Lindy Michie, Avis Rasmussen, Paul Shepherd, Pam Stonehouse, Miriam Thorn, Erik Thorn, Joan Turner, Myrna Germaine-Brown, Bruce Vallance, Flo-Elle Watson, and Val Wouters.
