With seven gold and six platinum recordings, The Nylons are one of Canada’s top international success stories.

Over the last 25 years they have become a global institution and a legend in the world of a cappella music. The group has performed over 1000 concerts in dozens of tours worldwide including Japan, Korea, China, Australia, Europe, Brazil, the US, and Canada.

In their thirteenth album, Play On, they employ all the skills that have brought them success, resulting in the strongest mix to date of original material and contemporary favorites by composers such as Sting, James Taylor, and Paul Simon. A new album is in the works for release in 2007 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their first record release.

From their formation in the back of a delicatessen in Toronto in the late 1970s to headlining at Carnegie Hall, The Nylons have a storied history. Their first album went gold in only two months and eventually went on to become a Canadian platinum seller with big hits Up The Ladder To The Roof and The Lion Sleeps Tonight. The second album, One Size Fits All, was successfully distributed in the U.S. and became the foundation for their increasing fan base in that country leading to constant touring on both sides of the border. A gold disc for the One Size Fits All album in Holland opened up the European market for the group. The Nylons have received numerous awards and accolades including their gold and platinum records, a Tokyo Music Festival award, and a Canadian Juno. Disney used their song That Kind Of Man in their feature film The Tin Man, and their version of Up The Ladder To The Roof was used in the movie Made In Heaven. Their recordings have been played to the astronauts on the NASA Space Shuttle, they have performed on The Tonight Show and made numerous major media appearances including Good Morning America.

With over three million albums sold, The Nylons’ winning combination has received international acclaim. About their recording of Kiss Him Goodbye, on the Happy Together CD, Billboard Magazine wrote “possibly the most intoxicating, power-packed harmony and percussion of any record of the eighties”.

The Nylons are renowned for their vibrant live shows, featuring dazzling harmonies, smooth arrangements, tight choreography, and fabulous showmanship. Their rapport
with their audiences makes them perennial favorites for all age groups. The Nylons continue to perform worldwide to passionate audiences and critical acclaim.
