From the early days of Giant Step, to today's Turntables on the Hudson parties, Nickodemus has been a key element in the NYC dance music scene for over 10 years. As a DJ & a producer, he explores the intersection of Urban & World Music with sounds of Funk, Folk, Jazz, Hip Hop, House & Dub- all with a message of peace, awareness & love for the dance.

Nicko has been the supporting dj for concerts featuring Gil Scott Heron, Jazzmattazz, The Pharcyde, Mos Def & Kweli, KRS-One, Us 3, Thievery Corporation, Groove Collective, Pucho & the Latin Soul Brothers, Angelique Kidjo and Femi Kuti.

He has also been the resident dj & producer for Turntables on the Hudson (NYC) functions from 1998 to the present.

With over 30 original songs & 40 or more remixes in the past 10 years, Nickodemus has carved a niche for himself in World Music & Dance Music by intersecting World & Urban sounds to make a unique dancefloor fusion of his own. Remixes for artists such as: Billy Holiday, Nina Simone, Thievery Corporation, Sultan Khan, Astor Piazzolla, Gilfeme, Dublex Inc, Boozoo Bajou, Karuan, Madrid de los Austrias, Truby Trio & more... Along with songs selected for Sex & the City & various feature films, the first song, "Mi Swing es Tropical," on his debut album, "ENDANGERED SPECIES," has been used for the recent itunes+ipod advertisement.

On the bill with Nicko is Nils Von Hahn.
Nils emerged from the deep forest on the Sunshine Coast in the late 90's and was one of a small group of DJ's and Promoters who put that fabled land on the map by organizing many conscious, underground dance events where previously there had been none. Faeries & Fools is the most well known of these events. He now lives in Vancouver where he is a part of the wildly successful Beats Without Borders Collective. His DJ style is hard to pigeon hole but one can always expect to hear Global soundz with a slant towards tracks that are spiritual and sexy all at once. He believes each set should be a Journey for the dance-floor. Nils is no stranger to the Comox Valley performing mainstage at the Big Time Out.
