Warm Your Heart and Your Stomach at NDSS Student Council’s Empty Bowl Night

On Wednesday, December 13, at 5:30 pm, the Nanaimo District Secondary School’s (NDSS) Student Council and Pottery Program are hosting Empty Bowl. This is a fundraising event, with all proceeds donated to the Nanaimo Loaves and Fishes. The event will be held in the school’s cafeteria; tickets are $10/student and $15/adult.

NDSS students and others in the community have been working tirelessly to handcraft 150 custom decorated pottery soup bowls that will be used for the event. The goal is to raise money and awareness about the fight to end hunger.

The evening will include a variety of delicious soups, a silent auction, live entertainment from the NDSS jazz band, and the opportunity to take home one of the beautiful and unique handmade pottery bowls.

Empty Bowl is an international grassroots project developed by The Imagine/RENDER Group that aims to end hunger, raise awareness, and also raise funds to achieve this goal. Once attendees have finished their simple meal of soup, their empty bowls will symbolize the empty bowls of people around the world suffering from hunger.

Come and enjoy a warm bowl of soup and support a great cause!

Tickets are available now at the NDSS Office.
