Hosted by the Victoria Highlanders Football Club Society, the “King & Queen of Hearts First Annual Poker Tournament” promises to be anything but your average gamble on a good time. Offering plenty of options for both ladies and gentlemen alike, this fundraising event will be held Friday, February 12, 2010 at The Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria’s exclusive Men’s Member Lounge.

The tournament aims to raise $10,000 for youth soccer development, providing needed financial assistance and ensuring equal opportunities for young soccer players across Vancouver Island. As founder of the VHFC, Alex Campbell Jr. boasts that “Victoria has long been a hot-bed of young soccer talent with over 15,000 kids playing the game locally. Our club gives these youngsters something to aim for and the chance of playing soccer at a professional level. Our goal is to make the Highlanders a community-based club that Vancouver Island can be proud of.”

The $195 Poker Tournament ticket includes:
• Tournament Texas Hold’em entry fee with a Grand Prize of $1000, 2nd $500 & 3rd $250
• A $100 voucher redeemable for Highlanders apparel or season tickets
• Gourmet appetizers & two drink tickets
• Access to Scotch tasting bar
• A chance at one of five $50 giveaways and a variety of door-prizes awarded throughout the night
• 50/50 draw and raffle tickets for great prizes like: golf passes for two, getaway trip, Highlanders season tickets
• Tournament fallouts stay and play darts and pool
(tournament limited to 100 players; less than 40 tickets left))

“King & Queen of Hearts” will also offer a treat for the ladies: a boudoir themed photo session hosted in The Westin Bear Mountain’s luxurious Penthouse suite! For only $99, ladies will be treated to a private champagne reception, personal styling by Cherry Swirl Productions, and a professional photo shoot courtesy of Fetching Image Photography (limited to 25 spots), with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Highlanders. If they wish to try their hand at gambling, ladies are welcome to join the Men’s Member Lounge post-shoot.
