Three of Victoria’s edgiest improv troupes tackle life in the Age of the iPhone at Keep in Txt, a new show exploring the network of relationships we build and maintain on and through our new mobile technology.
“Each troupe will bring their own take on the concept,” explains producer and performer Missie Peters. “But the audience should come prepared – this is one show where you should leave your cellphone on!”
The Line-up:
Remilio Sheen – This experimental troupe that includes a writer for Atomic Vaudeville are known for their lo-fi approach – whether old projectors or cardboard boxes. What will they do with cellphones? Cast: Alex Wlasenko, Chris Vickers and Byron Kjeldsen
SpeakEasy – This eccentric duo combine spoken word with improvisation, building characters and poems on the spot. As former members of the Victoria Slam Team, they are fully qualified to spit verse in real time.
Cast: Dave Morris and Missie Peters
Prettiest Things You’ve Seen All Night – This troupe may be young, but they have years of experience under their belt already from their involvement in the Canadian Improv Games.
Cast: Steven Ray Orr, Wes Lord, Aleisha Kalina, Taylor McAdams and Chris McQuaid
