Island Bel Canto Singers present Christmas Spirits

Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. So it seemed natural for Island Bel Canto Singers to find the inspiration for their annual Christmas concert in this classic story.
The concert will be presented in 3 sets, one for each of the three Dickens' spirits. The Spirit of Christmas Past set has traditional English carols that would have been sung in 19th-century England. The second set for the Spirit of Christmas Present offers carols composed by 20th-century composers. The final set features lively, contemporary seasonal songs to represent the Spirit of Christmas Future.
Cameron Wigmore will be the special guest for the evening. Cameron is a tenor saxophonist, band leader and freelance musician, and is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music degree at VIU.
Under the direction of Lionel Tanod, Island Bel Canto Singers is an auditioned women's community choir that has been singing together since 1997.
Donations of non-perishable food items for Loaves & Fishes Food Bank will be accepted at the door.
