"In Concert" is a series of 4 concerts, each taking place on a Sunday afternoon at Trinity Presbyterian Church, an ideal venue for intimate chamber concerts.
The series is hosted by pianist Sarah Hagen, who is thrilled to have Laura Karney, Chad Louwerse and Megan Skidmore bring their supreme musicality to Campbell River. The artists, all known for their perceptive, eloquent and entertaining commentary, will take time to offer personal insights into the music.

Megan Skidmore - soprano
The series concludes with well-loved soprano Megan Skidmore, who charms audiences with her exquisite tone and captivating stage presence. Megan has performed to acclaim in numerous operatic productions, including the roles of Cunegonde in Candide with Opera McGill and Josephine in HMS Pinafore with McGill�s Savoy Society. She was recently soprano soloist with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra in Vivaldi�s Magnificat and a featured soloist at both BC Chorfest and the International Choral Festival Kathaumixw. Raised in the Comox Valley, Ms. Skidmore holds both her Bachelor�s and Master�s degrees in Voice Performance from McGill University. While in Montreal she had great success as Feu and Rossignol in L�Enfant et les Sortil�ges and Sara Riel in Louis Riel with Opera McGill. She has performed the role of Annina in Pacific Opera Victoria�s production of La Traviata and was also a member of the POV opera chorus for their productions of Erewhon and Il Trovatore. Currently on faculty at the Powell River Academy of Music, Megan is an acclaimed voice teacher and music director for the new Musical Theatre class. Her lieder interpretations have been lauded as �intelligent and deeply heartfelt.�
Ms. Skidmore will be collaborating with pianist Sarah Hagen in a programme which includes Debussy's Ariettes oubli�es, as well as works by Richard Strauss and Leonard Bernstein.

"A rarity of musical excellence, technical ease and tonal purity," pianist Sarah Hagen is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician, performing in concerts across Canada as well as in the United States, France, Italy, Germany and Sweden. Her interpretations have been described as "outstandingly inventive," performed with "infinite skill."
A visionary and an idealist, Sarah's performances are conceptually innovative, involving photography, couture and theatre. She is the Artistic Director for Pro'ject Sound, a performance project involving live piano with large-scale projected images. She is also an avid collaborator, reveling in the friendships and stimulation that abound in chamber music. As a concert presenter and producer, Miss Hagen frequently hosts world class performers from Europe, Australia and the United States. In 2006 she was awarded as the Comox Valley's Cultural Ambassador of the Year. She has been on faculty at the Comox Valley Youth Music Centre for over 10 years, performing in the CYMC Summer Festival with Russell Bajer, Charles Inkman and Victor Costanzi, among others. While Sarah travels regularly for performances in Europe, she also delights in playing with the premier Canadian ensemble, Trio Accord.
Miss Hagen has been heard on Swedish Radio 2, CBC's West Coast Performance, Alberta CBC's Sunday Arts Programme, WDAV (North Carolina) WOSU (Ohio), KFUO (Missouri), CKUA (Edmonton), WKAR (Michigan), WITF (Pennsylvania), 98.1 KING FM (Seattle) and has appeared on Bravo Television. Her solo album, Glass House Dancing, was nominated for a 2009 Western Canadian Music Award in the category of Classical Recording of the Year.
Sarah's motivation is the belief that music has the power to be a window into our souls regardless of age or knowledge. She currently makes her home and studio in Vancouver, British Columbia.
