he band started their career with the name One I'd Trouser when they formed while in high school, before changing their name to Trouser, and eventually The Trews. They released an EP as One I'd Trouser, and a second EP under the name The Trews. Their seventh recording, Friends and Total Strangers with release date of Oct. 6/09, is a departure from those that came before it.
The Trews didn’t set out to make an acoustic record, nor did it come about by accident. Those who know the band a little will know them as an electrifying and electrified rock band; those who know them well know their acoustic side, long a staple in the live set but less heard on album. Friends and Total Strangers is the result of a recording that demanded to exhibit other colours of The Trews’ broad artistic palette.
