10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

This Thanksgiving weekend, Gabriola Island will become B.C.’s best destination, as the 22nd Annual Gabriola Studio Tour takes off.

81 Gabriolan artists in 64 studios will open their doors to thousands of visitors from around the world. With 15 new artists on the tour this year, the 22th Annual Thanksgiving Studio Tour on the “Isle of the Arts” is a can’t-miss event for art lovers.

Studios will be open 10am to 5pm on October 6-8, 2018.

The Studio Tour has been a huge success since its inception. Not only does Gabriola have the sixth highest concentration of artists in the workforce in Canada - more than 1 per square kilometer! But every year more artists move to the island.

From art for your wall to art for your hand, the Gabriola Studio Tour includes artists working in many media: ceramics, glass, photography, acrylics, watercolour, silversmithing, jewellery, illustration, basketry, leatherwork, sculpture, mixed media, textiles, wood and more—there’s something for everyone!

You’re bound to fall in love with a piece of art to take home. At many of the studios, the artists will be at work demonstrating their technique. Visit for a complete list of artists and galleries.

Join us at the Tour Kick-Off Soiree at Tour Central and Preview Gallery (Gabriola Arts and Heritage Centre) on Thursday, October 4th, 6:30pm, where there will be music, mingling, fun, and refreshments.

You’ll be able to preview many artists’ work (and purchase if you like it) and plan out your weekend.

Tour Central then be open all weekend from 10am - 2pm, with informed volunteer on hand.

Special in the 2018 Tour is a show at the Hive Emporium called Hay ch q’a: Snuneymuxw Art & Artists. Gabriola is the traditional land of the Snuneymuwx people. The show is presented in the spirit of respect and gratitude for the rich Snuneymuwx culture. Opening reception on Saturday, October 6, at 7pm.
