Bend Over Backwards Yoga in the Iyengar tradition has moved to Wesley Street
We have been offering classes in the heart of Nanaimo’s old city quarter for 20 years. Studio owner, Kelly Murphy, has been teaching Iyengar Yoga and mentoring teachers for over 25 years.
• Yoga in the Iyengar tradition is a classical form of yoga that focuses on correct body alignment.
• Poses are taught in a systematic, progressive way for safety and continuity.
• Focus is placed on developing body awareness, physical and mental strength, stability, mobility and flexibility.
• All teachers have received or are working toward International Iyengar Yoga certification.

Bend Over Backwards Studio is an intimate, fully equipped yoga space where every student receives individual attention. Our teachers are passionate about Iyengar Yoga and would like to share the benefits of this ancient practice with you. We know how to teach safely. We can work with common physical problems compassionately and with care. Iyengar Yoga is a complete approach to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, bringing vitality, mental clarity, wisdom and emotional serenity. This September we will be offering over 24 weekly classes and regular workshops for all levels of students. One of our specialties includes introducing Yoga to Beginners in our Level 1 classes. We offer modified classes for those who are recuperating from illness, surgery or injury or who have bodies that need to move carefully.
