Cowichan Consort Choir Begins Rehearsals

The Cowichan Consort : These semi-pro, retired, amateur, and student musicians have been entertaining local audiences for the past 26 years without government support.

The orchestra has three to five evening performances per season, and the choir performs usually two major works with the orchestra each season, with audiences numbering between 300-750 per performance.

Verdi's Requiem will be presented May 5,  2018 joined with the Consort & Malaspina Choirs and soloists Gary and Anna Relyea, Betty Allison, and Benjamin Butterfield. Dec 's 2nd concert will feature Karl Jenkins's Stella Natalis. Not only do we regularly include youth choirs and young singers as guests in our programs, but we perform for local schools. Bonner El Choir will sing Nov 4th at the Spooky Music concert.

Each year we feature the youth of the Cowichan Valley with a concerto competition for solo instrument and/or voice winner(s),winner performs in March. Consort Choir: All voices welcome especially Men. Come Sing with us. Sue Doughty is Rehearsal Director and Yvonne Gillespie is our Accompanist. Robert Mari conducts the full Consort at our concerts. Carpooling available.
