It's CHRISTMAS MAGIC in Courtenay on November 20th when the official launch of the festive season comes to the downtown core.

The CHRISTMAS TURN-ON – Join in the traditional lighting of the 5th Street Christmas Tree at 5:15 pm and enjoy caroling and a sing-along, then watch as 5th Street lights up!

HOLIDAY CHEER with the Courtenay Museum talks on the traditions of Christmas around the World and drop-in dinosaur tree ornament workshop for parents and kids, the CV Art Gallery with a sneak preview opening of the Annual Craft Fair, and the Sid Williams Theatre for "Fiddler on the Roof".

CHRISTMAS SQUARES – evening entertainment at various times from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the CV Art Gallery Plaza on Duncan Ave. and the other plazas downtown.

The excitement of the TRADITIONAL MOONLIGHT MAGIC SALES – 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, the sale that launches the Christmas shopping season.

WALK THE WINDOWS - Starting November 20th vote for your favourite window as ‘People’s Choice” and a chance to win a $1000 shopping spree at participating 'Walk the Windows' businesses downtown. Just find the display you like the most and vote for your choice using the ballots provided in participating stores, and published in the CV Record newspaper.
From all the ballots 1 lucky name will be drawn to win, and you have until December 11th to participate. We have over 60 businesses participating, and all in easy walking distance of each other right downtown in beautiful Courtenay.
