10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Explore the natural and created beauty of the Central Island.

Visit active, professional artisans in their natural environments, find new and beautiful works of art for your home, garden, office or personal adornment, share the beauty of the region by carpooling with friends.

This is the latest evolution of the Central Island Studio Tour – now in its 6th incarnation since May of 2015, a completely barrier-free opportunity for visitors. More than 100 of the 150+ listed studios, galleries and businesses in the 2018 guide are open. Artists will be in attendance at each studio, to share their work and their process with you, answer your questions… and happily sell you their wares! Many studios feature multiple artists, too!

The guide includes both well-known and emerging creators of many genres – from classic realism and abstract acrylics to upcycled metal & glass sculpture. You’ll find master crafters, jewellery-makers, wood sculptors, oil & acrylic land and seascapers, fused and kiln-fired glass makers, furniture craftsmen, potters and ceramicists, photographers & photo-collagers, weavers, quilters, abstract & modern painters, pyrographers, traditional and contemporary stained glass designers, even a florist, a lamp maker and a figurine sculptor!

There is no fee to visit the studios, and many will have surprise treats to share on Studio Tour weekend, as well as great in-studio pricing for their work. Pick up a copy of the print guide starting April 1 throughout Vancouver Island and BC Ferries. No need to call head on those dates, just plan your route and go! Carpooling is definitely encouraged. Pack a picnic or stop at any of the great restaurants or food trucks along the way.

We recommend taking time to explore the artists in more detail on our website – – and save your faves so don’t miss anyone you really like. But by all means, wing it! Many artists accept credit cards, but bring some cash just in case, for those small impulse buys you just can’t resist.

The Central Island Arts Guide is a new year-round reference of creative producers from Parksville to Campbell River. It includes short descriptions and photos, including full contact details, simple maps and an interactive Ondago® mobile map app! Full details, downloads and more are available at

If you are an artist between Parksville and Campbell River who would like to be included in the 2019 Arts Guide, contact Comox Valley Arts through their website at
