Brianne de Verteuil & Her Savvy 6 is a group of talented musicians from Montréal, Québec, dedicated to performing the music of the John Kirby Sextet, as well as performing other jazz repertoire Kirby-styled (including original music). One of the more significant small groups in the Big Band era, the John Kirby Sextet played an sophisticated, lighter style of jazz. Their biggest hit is "Undecided", which quickly became a jazz standard. Just as the John Kirby Sextet was often joined by vocalist Maxine Sullivan, Brianne's Savvy 6 is proud to feature vocalist Patti Payne on a number of tunes. This group also draws on influences such as Duke Ellington, Johnny Hodges, Cannonball Adderley, Artie Shaw, and Louis Armstrong.
