Six unlikely contestants, including one who submits a bridal cake, clash in a cake-baking contest in a small town on Canada Day. They experience a roller-coaster day of heartbreak and laughter and, as tension mounts, cakes go missing and tempers rise. In the end each character gets his or her just desserts!

This hilarious comedy was written by Canadian playwright, Colleen Curran. The Montreal playwright, novelist, CBC dramatist, actor and performer premiered Cakewalk at the Blyth Festival in 1984. The play has since been performed more than 50 times across Canada and was acquired by Whoopi Goldberg for her Showtime TV series.

Auditions are scheduled for Tuesday February 19 at 7 pm and Saturday February 23 at 1 pm at St Luke’s Hall, 3821 Cedar Hill X Road. Call-backs will be on Tuesday February 26 at 7 pm.

The cast comprises 5 women (20’s to 60’s) and one man (50 to 65)
