Montreal born Angele Dubeau is one of Canada’s most pre-eminent violinists. In addition to an international solo career, she is the founder and director of the renowned string orchestra La Pieta. Named after the girls’ orphanage where Vivaldi taught and composed, La Pieta is made up of the best women musicians in Canada. They are frequently heard on the CBC and especially on Radio- Canada. At ArtSpring they perform a concert entitled Myths and Legends, including the music of Philip Glass, Ginastera, Piazzola, Gluck, Francois Dompierre, Lorraine Desmarais, Denis Dion and others.
